We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive space for our community; a place to connect, socialize, move and grow. We have navigated the past two months together as CDC and state policies have evolved and changed. We are grateful for your continued patience, flexibility and commitment to creating a safe space for all.
In light of the recent statement by governor Kate Brown declaring an end to most state COVID-19 restrictions, we have reassessed our mask policy. We want to recognize that while many people crave an unmasked space, many others may still feel comfortable in a masked space, particularly if they have children who are ineligible for the vaccine. With this in mind, we will have both masked and unmasked hours.
STARTING WEDNESDAY JUNE 30TH, every day, from open until 2pm, masks will be required regardless of vaccination status. From 2pm-close, masks are optional, also regardless of vaccination status.
Since children under the age of 12 are ineligible for the vaccine, we have decided to align the mask hours with our summer youth camps. We will maintain this policy until our summer camps conclude at the end of August. At that point, we will re-evaluate our policy based on CDC guidelines, COVID-19 prevalence, and vaccination availability.
We will continue to maintain our Covid facility protocols including frequent sanitization of surfaces, exchanging air filters and doing a thorough clean of our whole facility every day.
The health and well-being of our community and staff is of utmost importance. That is why we have prioritized your safety when it comes to COVID-19. More details regarding our COVID-19 Policies can be found below.
FACE MASKS REQUIRED OPENING TO 2PM REGARDLESS OF VACCINE STATUS
FACE MASKS OPTIONAL 2PM-CLOSE REGARLESS OF VACCINE STATUS
PRE-SCREENING: Do not come to the gym if you have had or believe you have come in exposure to COVID-19. Do not come to the gym if you are experiencing any of the listed CDC symptoms of COVID-19. If you are considered a person of higher risk of COVID-19, the CDC is recommending you take extra precautions, which may mean you choose not to climb yet.
HYGIENE: People entering the gym must practice proper hand hygiene. This means, sanitizing hands upon entering and before exiting the building. There will be plenty of hand sanitizer stations throughout the gym. Washing hands during your climbing session is a good idea too.
FITNESS AREA: Please wipe down weights, benches, cardio equipment when done. VRG Climb staff will also be frequently cleaning these surfaces.
WATER BOTTLES: You must bring your own water bottle. Due to CDC guidelines of sports facilities, you cannot use the water fountain. You may use the refillable water station of the fountain however.
CLASSES: All classes will need to be reserved in advance and have a max capacity.
VENTILATION: We’ll be changing the filters on our HVAC system monthly.
WE CARE FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR STAFF/CUSTOMERS: We genuinely care for the safety of all gym members and want you to feel as comfortable as possible when coming to the Valley Rock Gym.
