This 30 minute core class focuses on strengthening the core and improving balance, endurance and stability. This is a scalable workout class designed to push you at any level.
Rotating Climbing Specific Training Class
1) Strength training for climbing
Strength training can seem overwhelming and confusing but once you know the basics the possibilities are endless! This 30 minute class will teach you how to plan and execute a strength training program geared towards climbing. We’ll go over key exercises to focus on, ways to vary your workout, and the proper form and technique to do them safely. Education is the focus for this class but we’ll still be practicing several movements to work on body position and form. By the end of this class you will have a much better idea on how to create your own strength training plan!
2) Antagonist strength training for climbing
Climbing is a repetitive activity so if we spend all of our time climbing, there are going to be muscles that aren’t getting used enough. This 30 minute class will focus on strengthening muscles that oppose the muscles we use when we’re climbing. We’ll go over how to recognize these opposing muscles, how to incorporate exercises that strengthen them into your workouts, and proper form and technique. This will be a more educational class rather than a killer workout but we’ll still be practicing multiple exercises so come ready to move and listen!
3) Injury prevention for climbing
No one wants to get injured and there are many simple things we can do to help avoid this fate. This 30 minute class will address the common areas climbers get injured, preventative exercises to prepare for potential injuries, and proper execution of said exercises. You’ll leave this class with a better understanding on what you can do to help avoid injury in your climbing journey!
