Our participants can be avid climbers, or first timers! Our offerings will work to develop knowledge, skills, and community for wherever our climbers are in their journey! We will introduce fun challenges for every level of climbing experience.
Summer Camps will run Monday through Friday! We are offering 3 different age group options:
Members get 15% off and must call the front desk to process the discount.

Rock Stars:
The VRG Rock Star Camps offer a fun, creative, and supportive atmosphere that promotes a love of climbing and movement. Enthusiastic VRG instructors will guide climbers through a youth-driven exploration of climbing fundamentals—helping young climbers develop confidence, trust, and social skills. The Rock Star Program focuses on group encouragement and support in an active environment.

The Ascenders:
The VRG Ascenders Camps are designed to create a supportive and fun learning environment that promotes a love of climbing, movement and teamwork. Engaging youth coaches will guide climbers through an exploration of climbing skills ranging from basic footwork to more complex body movements, problem-solving and projecting to help young climbers develop confidence, trust, and social skills while taking on the challenges that climbing has to offer. Games and activities are tailored to the group's unique strengths and abilities, ensuring positive climbing experiences for all involved.

Club:
Our Club Programs offer a collaborative environment for teen climbers to explore more nuanced bouldering technique, identify and work towards goals, and continue to develop their strength, balance, coordination and skill. Instructors will focus on the individual needs of each climber while building a supportive group atmosphere to build community and love for movement.

Our schedule integrates a fun and creative curriculum that has the flexibility to adapt to the interests and energy of our participants. A general structure of the session would look like:
For the 6-8 year old group: Rock Stars
9am-9:15am: Morning introductions, stretching, & briefing of daily activities.
9:15am-10:00am: Educational/ skill building activity
10:00am-10:30: Climbing game
10:30am-10:45am: Snack
10:45am-11:15pm: Free Climbing/skill practice
11:15am-11:45pm: Climbing or game/activity
11:45am -12:00pm: Closing question, daily reflections, stretching.
12:00pm: Pick up
For the 9-12 year old group: Ascenders
9am-9:20am: Morning introductions, stretching, & briefing of daily activities.
9:20am-10:30am: Educational/ skill building activity 1
10:30am-11am: Free climbing time/skill practice
11am-11:30am: Lunch break
11:30am-12pm: Climbing game/ activity
12pm-1pm: Educational/ skill building activity 2
1pm-1:15pm: Afternoon snack
1:15pm-1:45pm: Free climbing time/game/activity
1:45pm - 2:00pm: Closing question, day reflections, stretching.
2:00pm: Pick up
For the 13-16 year old group: Club
1:00-1:15pm: Introductions, stretching, & briefing of daily activities.

2:00pm-2:30pm: Free Climbing/projecting
2:30pm-2:45pm: Snack
2:45pm-3:15pm: Free Climbing/skill practice

3:45pm-4:00pm: Closing question, daily reflections, stretching.
4:00pm: Pick up
Participants who are in the Rock Stars and Club camps will need to bring a snack, a water bottle, comfy clothes to climb in, tennis shoes, sunscreen and a hat.
Participants who are in the Ascenders camp from 9am-2pm will need to bring lunch, snacks, a water bottle, comfy clothes to climb in, tennis shoes, sunscreen and a hat.
For all camps, participants are welcome to bring their own climbing equipment if they have it, but shoes, harnesses, and chalk will be provided to participants free of charge if they do not.
Participants who are in the Rock Stars and Club Camps will need to bring their own snack.
Participants who are in the Ascenders Camp from 9am-2pm will need to bring both a lunch and extra snacks.
Depending on weather, we will have participants either eating outside on the patio or in our downstairs youth party room.
Children will not be permitted to leave the building unless signed out by a parent, or when having lunch outside or playing games/arts & crafts in our courtyard space accompanied by our youth instructors.
Our camps have a minimum capacity of 4 participants and a maximum capacity of 8 participants. We operate with a 4:1 participant to instructor ratio. Camps will not run if there are less than 4 kids enrolled. Associated fees will get refunded.
While our camps will be largely focused on learning new climbing skills, we will break up our climbing times with stretching and other games and activities. We will also have structured times for drawing and other crafts for kids to have restful breaks from climbing as well.
